Rich Dad Poor Dad is a bestselling book written by Robert Kiyosaki. The title of the book represents two people whom Robert Kiyosaki claims as both his dads, each unique in the sense that they have their own distinct characteristics towards money and finances. His actual biological father is represented by “poor Dad” and his friend Mike’s father is the person that embodies “rich Dad”. He claims that his “poor Dad” worked his butt off all his life but still ended as financially insolvent, and in contrast, “rich Dad” is the enterprising type of guy who eventually out of his marketing shrewdness was able to build a business empire and became one the richest man in Hawaii. It was never divulged in the book who “rich Dad” was but this was the person Robert Kiyosaki emulated at an early age. On his book Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki asserts that the secret to a person’s climb to success is not being taught in American schools, where it should be.

Awarded with the Air Medal in his stint as a helicopter gunship pilot in Vietnam, Robert Kiyosaki left the Marine Corps and started selling copiers for Xerox. Robert briefly became successful in the setup of a company that sold the first ever Velcro surfer wallets but it eventually went bankrupt. And then, he ventured into T-shirts but that was another story.
